I still don't know how to disable the auto-shut off on an electric blanket...
If it is not a "Timer" being referred to,
the "auto-shut off" will be a thermostat,
built into the "electric blanket" to prevent overheating.

To get to it you would need to
first locate it (it will probably be a "lump" in the blanket - where the heating wires are densest)
cut the blanket to get to it
and
short-circuit its connections.

You now have an unsafe product, which is not fit for purpose !

I found a safe "work-around" for my electric blanket. I have foot neuropathy and by bedtime, my feet are freezing. I turn on the blanket to just under "high" at 7:00pm and when I go to bed around 10 or 11, I turn it off . . . for about 20 minutes, then turn it back on. It resets and I have 6 hours left before it turns off again.
Check the label on your blanket. It should tell you how many hours it is set for. If it is a 4 hour timer, it may be time to upgrade to a better, longer lasting blanket.
Note: I was told that the auto shut-off is not only for overheating the blanket, but, for over cooking the person under it. (although it is fair to say both are a good safety measure).

Although this is an older thread, it is still a very viable topic.

I believe 'auto shut-off' and overheat protection are two different things. Most if not all modern electric blankets have a time limiter. There are certain medical conditions - particularly present in the elderly, that reduces sensitivity to heat.

So, no, you don't know how. No one asked if you should. Contribute or scroll, you're not superior.
Sure is a funny 1st post when you don't realize we do not give unsafe advice in this forum.
