Wiring an isolation relay for Nest Thermostat

. Ihave an oil burner with a two wire system and was assured by a nest rep that the Nest would work no problem with this setup. I ran a red white and common from my peerless boiler to the nest. Since I've had it I get E74 errors randomly. The thermostat heats up the house and then shuts off. It says under equipment detected no power to Rh. After troubleshooting with a Nest rep today he determined either I need to purchase an isolation relay . The purpose of the isolation relay is to communicate an analog boiler to a digital thermostat.

I'm just a little confused about the wiring diagram included with the relay and was hoping someone could shed some light.
I currently have a red white and common running from the nest to the Taco board at the oil burner. The aquastat also connects to thr same red and white terminals as thr nest.

Welcome to the bizarre world of living with the nest thermostat. I’ve made tens of thousands of dollars in service calls going out and dealing with the long list of issues they cause. Which include one that caught fire on the wall.
Despite what Nest tells you, your thermostat needs both a common and 24V hot to work. Using no common with power stealing increases their issues and problems.

I installed it with a common. The error im getting is no power to Rh. Just not getting how the relay is wired

The nest requires an auxiliary transformer and N/O relay with a 24V coil.
Is this a boiler or furnace?
I’d highly suggest reconsidering your choice of thermostat.
Peerless

Yes this is a peerless oil burner. If this relay doesn't work out im getting rid of the nest

The Nest thermostat is popular because it adapts to your schedule with presence sensor(s).
Rather than explain that leaving your thermostat alone is almost always more efficient they convince you that you will save money with it.
You really won't unless you are away for 12 or more hours and definitely won't if you have a heat pump.

You wired it up incorrectly.

The Nest should wire to the R, W, and C of the Taco. The boiler should wire to the Com, and N.O. terminals at the other end of the Taco. No additional relay is required with the set up you have.

You may or may not have damaged the boiler's aquastat, and or the Nest.

Then its been wired up wrong since it was installed.

The Taco has its own transformer, and so should your aquastat.it did work fine though with the old thermostat. Its only since I changed to the nest since I've been having problems so how was it wired wrong?
Funny you say that bc when I was looking at it yesterday I thought the same thing. I can run outlets and lights for a whole house but boards and transformers aren't my specialty hence my post.

Slomin's repairman came today. It turns out one of the issues was was the pressure trol. First we tested the low water cut off which had power, then he saw that there was no power leaving the pressure trol. He bypassed that and everything fired up. He replaced the clogged pressure trol with a new one and everything worked. I guess it was a combination of electric and plumbing. However wthin an hour i got the error again. Next technician said its most likely the nest backplate since we were able to jump the burner by touching the white and red wires

This switching relay did not work for me, I wired up with Taco SR501-4 and the switch would cut on and off, on and off. Then I would get the same error again, no power to the Rh. Can't figure it out. wired exactly with the diagram, I have a C wire also, like the OP.

The member you quoted passed away.
I’d return the nest and get something better and more reliable. The Nest, just like stated 3 years ago in this thread, is still an unreliable mess.

I have not run across one HVAC tech that thinks the Nest is a good idea.
