How old is the DW? Looking good and sealing may not be related. Sometimes they get compressed and don't seal as well as when they were new. Are the seals clean? Check at the bottom of the unit with the door open, right next to the door. Is there a build up of crud? We have that often and need to clean it with a paper towel occasionally. It doesn't cause leaks, but it could if left unattended, IMO.
It seems odd that it would leak on a normal cycle but not a quick wash. So many possibilities; it could be related to the amount of water in the tub and maybe a drain issue. It could the longer cycle of hot water causes the seal to distort. If you are certain it is leaking from the door seal, and it is a new problem on a not-new machine, check to see if a door seal kit is available. Most manufacturers do.
I cleaned it up and checked the seal. I actually ordered off Amazon another seal that was the same Part# but it was too thick and the door would not close. Not sure why.
In the first few days after spending a thousand bucks on a new dishwasher, my kid used the open door as a step ladder. The frame is a little bent and I had the same situation where it was okay on the 60 minute cycle, but a full cycle would leak. A repairman told me it was unfixable. I have been using the 60 minute cycle ever since. On the rare occasion somebody did run a full cycle, it hasn't leaked. The problem sort of went away. But I'm still paranoid to run a full cycle overnight like I used to.
Ok, I replaced the door gasket for the second time ( the first time the door would not close so thought i had wrong gasket) but this gasket is doing same thing so pretty sure it is right gasket. seems like the gasket sticks out to far for the door to latch. Any ideas? it won't even latch if i close it hard. TY
is it possible that the door latch is not is not sticking up enough? It worked when the old gasket was on. As you can see it's only staying up about 16th of an inch. Is that the way it suppose to be?
Are you sure it's leaking from the door? Do you actually see water dripping from the door or seal, or just water pooled on the floor? If the latter, it could very well be some other part of the DW that's leaking. There are lots of hoses and connections under there, and it could be any one of them. The floor of my DW can actually be pulled out from the frame (after a lot of unbolting) and there is a big rubber seal going all the way around the floor. After a number of years, all these seals and rubber hose connections get crud built up on them, and they can start to leak. In my experience, pulling the DW out, laying it on its side, and replacing whatever seems like the source of the leak just leads to the crud getting agitated inside the other connections, resulting in more leaks. Last time I tracked a leak down, I ended up cleaning 4 or 5 hose connections and replacing the crappy hose clamps with proper worm gear clamps. It took a few days of un- and re-installing the DW and tracking down leaks, but it no longer leaks.
It seems like your dishwasher might be leaking during long wash cycles because of higher water pressure, door alignment issues, drainage problems, overloading, or worn parts. Check the water inlet valve, make sure the door closes tightly, clear any blockages in the drain hose, avoid overloading, and inspect other parts for wear and tear.
