i am taking on the task of tiling a 100sqft room in our house. just tore out the carpet, carpet strips and base boards. i have a 4' level and with that alone i could tell that there is some minor low spots on the floor. so i guess i will need to get the surface nice and flat with some compound.
ive been reading up on the process and stuff like LevelQuik seems to be basically poor on the low spot and let it do its job (with a little coaxing and feathering of course). also, there is no need to pour the level over the ENTIRE floor, just the low spots to build it up flat, right?
ive also been reading on Sakrete's Trowel Grade leveler. Its more putty like and i was thinking of applying it to the low spots and then dragging an 8' aluminum screed to smooth/flatten it out.
any thoughts?
