Greetings,
I am a 1st time poster. I have some experience in electrical wiring, recently adding a new 40 amp circuit into my panel box, installing new outlets, etc.
My issue/question is this. I have an old Westinghouse panel box with bolt-on style breakers (shown in the photos.) Currently this panel box is full (photo shown has an open space but that is now full.) I recently purchased a Intermatic IG Series Surge Protective Device (install diagram shown) which needs to be wired to a 2-pole 20A circuit. Unfortunately as my box currently stands, I have no additional space to add the required 2-pole 20A.
I am thinking that a solution may be to add two 20A tandem breakers which would allow me to remove four 20A single-pole breakers, thus allowing me to add the required 2-pole 20A for the surge protection device.
My questions are:
I would sincerely appreciate any advice and comments.

- Will this panel box accept tandem breakers?
- If so, which side should they be added on?
I would sincerely appreciate any advice and comments.
