Hot dipped galvanized is for outside and treated lumber. Inside under a roof the cheaper is fine.

 

Z-Max is Simpson's heavier coated HDG. At one time Z-Max was the only one formulated for pressure treated wood. But I think that was back when Cupric Arsenate was used as the preservative. Now, with ACQ, it is probably allowed for the regular galvanization to be used.
