Shower handle removal - no screw or nut

There is a drip in an old shower, which I thought would be a straightforward washer/stem replacement, but I can't figure out how to get the faucet handles off. There appears to be no screw, no cap hiding a screw, no nut behind the handle, and no brand name.

Any idea how to get these off or what the brand/model is?

Prying off the caps was the first thing I thought I would have to do, but it seems like it's not a cap, just a raised part of a solid metal handle (similar to here, but there is also no nut behind the handle: https://womenyoushouldknow.net/fix-friday-get-screwed-screwless-faucet-handle/ ). I already have the deep socket set and have done this a few times before, but the cap/screw is usually pretty obvious. I felt around the H with my nail and a scraper and it didn't seem like there's a seam. I could be wrong and will take another literal stab at them though.
