Shower bulb

After owning this house 3.5 yrs my shower light bulb just burned out.

This brings me to 2 questions.

1. Is there a moisture light bulb for showers or will any bulb be fine?

2. How do I tell if the recessed fixture is made for moist areas where steam can get in? Or does it matter? It looks just like the other 2 fixtures over the tub and kitchen sink.

Exposed bulbs not allowed in showers. Bulb must be enclosed within a glass trim ring.

So it doesn't matter what kind of bulb goes in here? I didn't know if they were like appliances and took a special bulb. Thanks

The cans I am familiar with would limit the bulb to 40 watts with that type of trim. There should be a label inside the can listing the types and wattages of the bulbs to be used with that trim, usually an A19 at 40 watts.
A brand and model number would help.

Some shower trims do allow a bare bulb, but typically requir it too be an exterior flood type.

in short, any bulb is fine, just dont put a bulb above what the wattage is rated or it could go off on safety( over heat) either led or cfl will work great...and cut down on heat and last way longer..
