Hi all.
I read that a zinc anode could (help) eliminate that rotten egg smell in my new water heater (tried 155 degree heat already). My A.O. Smith heater has a plastic cap on the top, and when I popped that, under it was that hardened foam insulation. I was expecting a bolt to be there. I'm thinking I just tear the insulation out? Didn't want to do that without confirmation. I haven't worked with that material (which I assume is sprayed in). Thanks.
