Rheem MiniSplits made by Fujitsu. How to determine actual manufacturer of minisplits?

Trane minisplits are made by Mitsubishi.
Seems like rebranding in the Minisplit market is rampant.

Is there anyway to easily look up who is the real manufacturer of the minisplit?

If you can see the model # sticker it may say in small print who the parent company is. Lennox owns Allied Air and has it's sister products under that name. International Comfort Products is owned by United Technologies who owns Carrier and ICP has Keeprite etc etc.

LG makes the LED screens for high end Sony TVs. Point is buy whatever major brand you are comfortable with and hope for the best.

I doubt the manufacturers care one way or the other if you need to know who built what and may or may not provide that info as few people care.

the reason I want to know is because I'm buying surplus mini split parts and a lot of times that means figguring out which outdoor unit matches with what indoor unit. When the gear is rebranded the model's number change and one can get really good deals by researching what matches what, when other people are too lazy to figgure it out. Just saw a 29.3 seer outdoor mini split 12,000 fujitsu condensor for $240. The reason it's so cheap is becuase it's labeled as unknown brand. it's actually a rheem model number, but cross referencing can find fujitsi indoor unit model number and get that.

If everything works you will be OK. With mini's if you have a problem there is not a lot of resources available. I have the Daikin service manual and it is written in Chinese algebra! If you show up and say my mini is not responding to the remote and I have a Rheem condenser with a Mitsu evaporator but the remote is a Trane. Crickets, there will be dead silence.

Well basically Trane= Mitsibushi and Rheem=Fujitsu is what I have figgured out so far. I called an online place hvac direct and asked them if they could sell me just an inside head and they told me a 16 seer head would work fine on a 30seer outdoor unit. Not gonna listen to their advice, but I am curious what happens when one has the same manufacturers indoor and outdoor units that have mismatched seer values?
