I’m installing a Reverse Osmosis system in the basement. Best way to wall mount the tank to a wall? Looking for something a little more elegant than a run-of-the-mill shelf.

I really like this setup!!!! Where can I buy the white wire that's holding the tank? Any alternative ideas?

I bought a scuba tank / Compressed Gas Cylinders tie down strap & mount. However, the mounting bracket doesn’t quite fit a RO tank.

Duly noted on upgrading the tank. I still want to do a wall mount. I've got 3/4 plywood so it should be robust enough.

If I upgrade, i might get the 14 gallon tank.

If I upgrade to this tank, looks like a shelf is the only option? Do people really have problems with a 4 gallon tank? My RO pumps out 90 gallons a day so 4 gallons per sitting seems more than enough.

Either way, I'd love to know what your recommendations are for a wall mount. I am trying to work within manufacturer specifications for distances to since and drain.

Just got it. Overall I'm pretty happy. However, I welcome suggestions on how to hang this.

My only gripe is the notches are too small for a 1/4" bolt. This is going in the basement and the plywood isn't all that deep. That's not ideal for screws. Unfortunately, bolts smaller than 1/4 (e.g. 3/16) don't seem to exist.

Best Option:

  • Button Head Screws Class 10.9 Alloy Steel, M4 x 8/10/12/20/25/30/35/40mm Hex Socket Bolts Nuts
  • M4 x 6.5mm Carbon Steel T Nuts Zinc Plated 4 Pronged Tee Nut, Pack of 50

I'm using T nuts as I may not be able to reach up behind the plywood if I have to remove the rack for some reason.

Option #2: drilling the steel plate wider for 1/4" bolts, which I prefer not to do.

I'm guessing 4mm Button Head Screws have a shear strength of around 1,705.52 pounds, but there's no clear documentation and that's my math. Plus it's Chinese amazon screw so who knows. Anyway, devil is in the details..

Again, I'm Open to suggestions..
