Hey Everyone - I had issues with my ECM 142 motor which ended up needing to be replaced. The OEM replacement was very expensive and I came across numerous posts where people were having success using the Gentec 6303 motors as a universal replacement. One thread on this forum i reference specifically "replace ecm 142 fan motor in trane condenser with genteq evergreen om 6303" - This is my first post so I'm not allowed to share the link.
The new motor is installed and has been running, successfully heating the home. However, it will not turn off, the motor constantly runs even when i have the thermostat switched off. I followed the exact instructions per the thread referenced above (removed all molex connections and connected the new Gentec 6303S directly to the defrost control board, and to the contactor after configuring it to the correct speed and direction (in my case, 825rpm CCW). I will post some photos as well showing the before and after. Wondering if anybody might know what the issue is, or have had a similar experience?
