They are not listed for that use so they will probably fail inspection. Just like you cant use plumbing pipe for electrical conduit.

 

The service entrance cable straps for the size I need weren't in stock at my local Home Depot.

With all the Home Depot’s or electrical supply houses in Houston, someone is going to have them.

If your inspector is any good, he will catch any substitution. Both color and shape are different.
It’s an easy way to fail inspection.

 

Use proper straps.
