Hi Just had my living room skimmed with new plaster. When the plaster was dry I painted it with Johnsons premium contract brilliant white ( supposedly perfect for new plaster). Looked great but the finish was too bright and hurtful for my wifes eyesight. Over painted it Dulux brilliant white (Matt) Walls are patchy now, I believe sometimes called paint flashing. Any advice on how to overcome this so that it looks smooth.Ta

Hi Thanks for the replies.Another coat of paint on the Ist picture( Fire place wall ) with a long nap roller didn't work, although on the other wall it did improve the finish.
Tried a coat of Johnsons undercoat on the fireplace wall, then used a special Johnsons perfect matt brilliant white (recommended for such problem areas). Not 100%
perfect but looks a lot better.
