I just bought an older trailer with an oil fired Miller furnace.There is no markings on the burner but I am pretty sure it is a Wayne.I have worked on these furnace over the years (i am definatly no tech) changing tips,adjusting electrodes,bleeding,filters that sort of stuff so i am fimiliar with the anatomy of a miller furnace.
The tip was clogged when i got it (the tip and all around it was full of soot pretty bad) so I pulled nozzle apart cleaned it,put new tip in,cleaned and adjusted electrodes,cleaned or replaced all filters,drained out oil tank and put 50 gallons of fresh kerosene. It fires up with and runs good but when I open the flap and check the flame the tips of the flame are a to the top of the hole.All the other trailer furnaces I've worked you could just see the tips of the flame.
I was wondering if this seems right.What else should I check.
