New Fascia where to caulk

I had 150' of fascia installed with my new roof. The pieces were primed both sides and the carpenter applied caulk to the ends (cut on a 45 degree) Should I caulk where the soffit meets the fascia?

How many tubes will I need, roughly? I am looking at DAP Alex 40yr. What is a reccomended brand?

It is wood. I am going to caulk it.
What material is the soffit? If it is wood, I would caulk the joint. If its vinyl or aluminum I wouldnt. The reason being that vinyl and aluminum need to move with the weather, where as the wood shouldnt be moving much if at all.

When you cut your tube, cut off the smallest amount possible and shave the tip til you get the size you want. If you cut off too much itll be a mess.
