I am customizing a van for some camper functionality and need to fabricate a support bench between the wheel wells, but need it to be free standing and be easily removable. It will support as much as 500 lbs. I have this idea of some kind of U shared support bracket where the frame drops into and is held by gravity and a few pins.
Two questions.
(1) what metal and thickness should I use for the rack that will not bend or break?
(2) any idea for the adapter U base that will bolt on to van walls and be permanent .. is there already a component or hardware that does this for metal gauge of the prior question or will I need to fabricate it?
