I am updating my 1974 wood kitchen cabinet doors with a shaker style front. I am having trouble finding a 1/4' material to use that is inexpensive. I would rather not use plywood because of the edges that I would have to deal with. If I use masonite I would get a nice smooth surface BUT what might the drawbacks be???
