Laundry utility sink installation questions (floor fastening and wall protection / caulking)

Hello everyone. I wrapped up my remodeling in the laundry room and all that is remaining is installing the laundry tub / utility sink. I don't have any concerns with plumbing or drainage connections but with finishing the surrounding wall and leg fastening to the floating floor.

1) What is the suggested method to attach the sink to the new floating floor? The instructions suggest screwing the front two legs to the floor. I really don't want to drill through the floor but I don't see any other way to mount it. The floating floor is sitting over concrete so I would use tapcons. If there any other alternative please let me know.

2) How should I finish the sink edge around the wall? The gap is 1/4" max on the left side and around 3/16" on the back / faucet side.

3) How can I protect the walls from splashing? The sheen of the paint can handle a bit of water but I was wondering If there was anything I could put above the left and back side of the sink to protect the walls. Plexiglass?

I appreciate the suggestions. Thanks!

Floating floor where there is water? I hope your not sorry like I was
Well, I hear you. The only alternative would have been some type of tile or linoleum. Any other floor is at risk. The only water concern I have is the condensation drain from the furnace plugging up. Any backup from the washer will end up filling the laundry tub and the kitchen sink before coming out the overflow of the washer stand pipe.

So I figured out how to mount the sink without fastening through the floor. At least I'm pretty confident on what to do.

I wanted to get your opinions on the placement of the sink itself. My original plan was to put it in the corner but I suppose I could mount into the middle of the space instead. Meaning about 2-1/4" from the wall on the left and 2-1/4" from the left side of the dryer on the right.

So my options are as follows:
  1. Mount the sink in the corner per earlier discussion but leave the walls as is with no covering.
  2. Same as #1 but finish gaps between the left and back sides of the sink with caulk. Might need to use a small backing rod to fill the gap prior to caulking.
  3. Mount the sink in the middle of the space and caulk the back edge between the sink and wall.

Update here.

Just figured I would close this thread out with what I decided to do. I ended up not putting anything on the walls and just left the paint as is. I'm expecting light usage of this sink so I will have to tolerate any water splashes on the walls.

I also decided to mount the sink in the middle of the space as to have about 2.5" on either side of it. I also mounted some scrap pieces of 2x4s under the back of the sink to allow me to attach it to the wall from underneath.

I have the same tub, and used plywood for wall board. Then I ran a couple screws through the back edge, from beneath, into the wall.

I suppose you could slip a piece of laminate or sheet metal between for a backsplash.
Thanks for the suggestions. I haven't ruled out adding something as a back splash yet, but I decided to finish up the kitchen, which is the last remaining room to this remodel.
