Kitchen Faucet Sprayer Diverter Problems

My PF kitchen faucet sprayer hasn’t been working well for a long time - only about 1/2 of the water was getting diverted to the sprayer. I put in a new diverter and it did not solve the problem. Now, the sprayer only works intermittently and when it works its still only diverting about 1/2 of the water to the sprayer. I took everything apart and made sure I had put the diverter in correctly and I’m 99% sure that I did. Now, even when I’m just running water I’m hearing funny noises that sound like when I engage the diverter by pulling the trigger. Also, now, sometimes I’m seeing a tiny bit of water leaking out of the sprayer body even when I’m not pushing the trigger, so I’m “thinking” water is somehow getting diverted to the sprayer hose even when not pressing the trigger. Any ideas what might be going on and how to fix it?

Your issue may be with the sprayer head itself especially if you have hard water.

Try removing the sprayer head and clean out all the sediment, debris, etc. Soak it in vinegar and use a needle to unblock the aerator holes if needed. See if that helps.

Another suggestion; you can obtain a new sprayer at any big box store. they are cheap.
