Is this OLD partition corner post supporting the steel beam or is it non-load bearing?

Can I remove the three 2x4 vertical beam in red? The THREE - 2x4 beam is the old corner of a partition wall, that was NOT load bearing.

I have a steel beam running center of my house with a 2 x 8 sill plate. This THREE - 2x4 beam is under the sill plate, but there is DRYWALL between the beam and the sill plate which indicates to me that its not bearing the load of the steel beam. There is a standard steel support post about 5 feet down the steel beam. I also suspect there is another standard steel support post on one side of the stairs.

Beams run left & right, studs go up & down. You want to remove studs, not a beam. Sill plate is on the floor, top plate is ... on top.

Based on the info provided, you should be ok.

Why does the wall on the right in the first picture have a triple top plate?
