Beams run left & right, studs go up & down. You want to remove studs, not a beam. Sill plate is on the floor, top plate is ... on top.

Based on the info provided, you should be ok.

You needed a header, or blocking, for the sliding door. Semantics & terminology.

 

Only if it is a load bearing wall. It looks to me like a double top plate and sill? Or a sill and a top plate and spacer.

I don't think the layer of sheetrock is structural (LOL). Pull the post! It can't be holding any weight or the sheetrock would be dust.

Thats a function of the size of the beam and the loads it carries. Way to complex for this forum.
