This must be a really deluxe system. I bought ours at H.D. for less than two hundred dollars and installed it over the weekend. They work great.

 

I should add that this past summer lighting knocked it out. I called the 800 number on the box for 18.00 they sent me a new one in two days.

 

What brand and model system did you purchase? The Invisible Fence rep says that their system is of much better quality than any do-it-yourself kits, including those from Petsafe, their new parent company. He actually showed me his sytem and those from his competitors and I do have to admit that their were some rather significant differences in quality.

I really don't mind spending the money for an Invisible Fence branded and professionally installed system, I just want to make sure that I'm not getting ripped off.

 

Except for some extra wire that I added, our system is a basic Petsafe system for one dog. I bought it at one of the big box stores, H.D. I believe, and it lay in the garage for about six months until I became motivated enough to install it. Took the dog about 3 to 4 days to learn the boundry. I do know of two other similar petsafe units nearby about 5 years old that have had no problems. Good Luck!
