Looking for help/suggestions on the best way to intersect the hip cap on my standing seam porch roof to the end wall flashing on the gable end of the house. This system is a heavier duty commercial type and uses a receiver trim rather than a z-track system. As a result the trim sits a little higher. Planned on intersecting over the end wall flashing (as shown)but because of the height of the hip cap I’m puzzled about how I will run my starter trim for the new siding. All references/pics I can find show the hip cap nearly flush with the surface of the end wall flashing but suspect these are of the z-track system. Included pics are of a template piece I’m using to try and figure it out (The template is properly installed in the receiver trim). I also was planning to flip up the ends of the hip cap against the house with the new siding installed over top. I can rattle off a few ideas I have but would rather hear from experienced standing seam guys first. Appreciate your expertise in advance! Thank you

It looks to me like the bend angle on your cap piece is too sharp for your hip. If this were my job, I'd put a temp piece of siding up and scribe the cap to fit snug butted against it. Then after the siding is installed a clean, neat bead of color match caulk. The headwall and sidewall flashing will be doing the waterproofing.
