I want to put in a gas fireplace. I currently have a wood burning fireplace that sits on a concrete slab. We put an outside air source in the floor connecting the fire box to the cellar. It drops 12 inches vertically and then makes a 90 degree turn and goes straight to the cellar. I think copper pipe will crimp and not make the turn. Has any one used or know of a flexible alternative to copper. I use propane from a tank outside the house. I'd appreciate any help you can give me.

Flex alternatives -Flexible copper -Corrugated stainless steel tubing (CSST) it depends on your codes, your experience, etc. CSST 'round here is only sold to the trades, special training, tools, fittings, etc. Your area may be different. Also 'round here they mandate a yellow jacketed copper for gas. Also special tools to do the job and purpose designed fittings. Neither is a job I would counsel a DIYer on unless I knew their skill level. Call a pro.
You probably are not allowed to do your own gas pipe fitting but if you are here's the product they sell in my local plumbing store.
