Ever use a workshop?

There are a couple of woodworking workshops near me … one small one is in town, another larger ine about an hour away. In addition to having a wide range of tools to use, they sell lumber and have classes. Here is a picture off their website, I have intentionally clipped the identifying information. They are typically located in a warehouse district, in spartan buildings. I have only been in 2, so my knowledge is limited. I have only bought lumber from them, i have enough tools at home to do what i want to do. I guess if you lived in an apartment it could be a different story. Or if you wanted to take a class.

These are different from the Rockler and Woodcraft stores. Those are primarily retail outlets with some tools for classes. The ones I am talking about are primarily shared (rental) large tools, and the only thing for sale is lumber.

So my question is ...does anyone have any experience with these types of shops? If there was one close to you would you use it?

Looks inviting. I'm fortunate to have an adequate one, but envy the large space. I think it will fall into the same category as high school and community college wood shops. Insurance, cost of raw materials, maintenance of machinery will go up causing them to eventually fade out. Sad
