I am about to insulate my block basement wall with rigid foam.
Not sure whether to use EPS Durofoam or XPS.
Would like to use XPS, but where I live in Ontario you need
at least 2 inches of it to be a considered a vapor barrier, anything less
you will need to add a barrier. I don't want any poly vapor barrier. Also only want one and half inch.
As much as XPS seems to be the recommended board for basement walls I am leaning towards Durofoam. It has very low permability of .5 perms due to its protective films. So it meets code at any thickness. It is also less than half the price of XPS.
I will be framing wall after with roxul mineral batts then drywall.
Any advice would much be appreciated. I don't wan't to make any mistakes.
