I think perpetual motion is possible in 0G, right?
Technically, no, and gravity is not a factor in achieving perpetual motion, since it is a constant. Newton's first law of motion says that an object in motion will stay in motion unless acted on by an outside force. On earth or in zero gravity inside a spaceship, for example, one force that acts on anything in motion is air drag. In a complete vacuum, you could theoretically achieve perpetual motion of an object, if you can avoid any other drag forces, such as friction. While friction can be reduced to minimal levels, it would be very difficult to eliminate it completely.

Ah cool, I must have confused 0G for vacuum chamber, sometimes the brain is funny.

This is sound advice for women going on a first date whereby her date is picking her up.

Before getting in the vehicle, take a picture of the license plate and immediately send it to a friend and/or family member. Note the date’s response.

If he laughs it off, it is likely to be an enjoyable date.

If he gets annoyed, that is a red flag to call off the date then and there.

I thought I had also but did not see it. I figured I composed the message but forgot to hit "Post Reply".

The fact that you recall seeing it now has me wondering what happened to the post. There is nothing offensive in it that would justify the moderators to remove it. It is advice I would give my own daughters and granddaughters.

I agree but we cannot know what lurks in the minds of moderators anywhere.

No offense intended @Cricket .

Horizontal Oil Filter Change Tip

To prevent oil running everywhere i don't want it i :
Loosen the filter so it can be turned by hand
Drill a hole in the bottom at 12:00 o'clock
Make or buy a drain funnel / trough to drain into a container
Rotate filter 180 CCW

I have an awl and place the drain pan under the filter.

poke a hole near the bottom of the filter, then poke another one near the upper side as a vent.

let it drain to the pan.

then move over to the pan plug and remove that.

Ain't we ingenious?

We all get them.

Those little silica gel packets in vitamins, OTC meds, sealed prescriptions, even shoes, and much more.

Save them, place them in your tool drawer, or photo album, or anywhere that moisture might destroy your valuables.

This prevents tool rust, and water damage to stuff.

Anyone living in a humid environment (think coastal, the gulf area, near a waterway) will benefit from this.

Then in a few months to a year, gather them all up and place on a cookie sheet in a 350-degree oven for 45 minutes to dry them out and reuse them again.

Every time I get one, it gets tossed into one of the drawers of my tool chest.

I have several 2# plastic peanut butter jars full of them, waiting to be put to use.

When old fingers don't do too well anymore an there is a tiny screw that needs to be screwed in a awkward area I ,
I solved the problem and did it myself . The screw goes in vertical portion of a remote rain gauge . Solution was to use a drink straw centered over the hole and drop the screw in the straw . Perfect , well almost . It was a straight slot screw and nearly impossible to keep a screw driver in the slot after screw was started . Solution continues -- cutting the straw shorter than the screw driver shank to keep the driver in the slot , it can't slip out .
