I have previously posted asking for input regarding issues with both the interior water dispenser and ice maker not working on this unit. At that time and oddly enough, both did start working without any intervention other than removing the water filter and installing the bypass plug for a couple of days. Recently, both stopped working again so I have done the following so far:
Regarding the water dispenser, I have verified that I have no water supply obstruction from the wall valve to the dispenser and I am able to dispense water with no issues. At the bottom rear of the refrigerator I tested continuity on both water valve coils (yellow and red) with readings of 268 for the yellow coil and 192 for the red coil with my digital multimeter set at 2000 ohms. I next tried testing the ice maker for a harvest cycle by using a jumper between the T and H contact points but it failed to cycle. I then tested the water inlet by jumping between the L and V contacts but no water entered the icemaker. I also tested and verified that there is correct voltage ( I read 118 volts ac using my digital multimeter). Given this, is it reasonable to assume the ice maker itself is the issue and not the coil on the inlet water valve that controls water supply to the ice maker?

Forgive my ignorance for not understanding your question. Water dispenser works without any issues. The ice maker does not and I have tested it as listed in my original post. It will not manually go through a harvest cycle, I can't get water to enter the unit by manually trying to open the inlet valve and the supply voltage tests at 108 volts ac.

I have a gold whirlpool as well that I believe had the water line freeze in the cabinet wall. Same issue, water dispenses from door dispenser but no ice.
Mine has a little cover plate on top of cabinet for tubing into ice maker. I think I disconnected tubing there and ran hot water via syringe as well as a hair dryer over the top of the cabinet over the freezer compartment and it resumed making ice. The plastic water tube is embedded in expanding foam ive been told and no easy way to access it.
of course after warranty expired.
My son bought a new house but ice maker didnt work In cabinet depth 18 year old Subzero. After a 10 plus hour power outage after summer storm it started working. Likely a blockage thawed and resumed working since.

Not to spoil your day, but I have a Whirlpool Gold that just turned 5 years old and I have had to replace the icemaker twice already. Water continued to work through both times. I was originally told that it was 80% chance it was the water inlet valve and I replaced it first the first time. Wasn't the problem.

Updating my post to say I installed a new OEM icemaker but still am not producing ice. I have plenty of water supply pressure coming from the house and am able to dispense chilled water at the dispenser located inside the fridge compartment and mounted on the left side cabinet. Here are water inlet valve coil readings with my digital multimeter set at 2000 ohms and zeroed before taking readings.

Latest update is I ordered and installed a replacement dual inlet water valve and am having a terrible time getting the large outlet line to not leak at the couplet where the line attaches to the valve. I cut off about 1/4" inch of the line before installing it into the new valve and made sure it bottomed out before releasing the couplet. Any ideas what my issue could be are appreciated.

Yes, in your earlier post (#1) where u wrote that you used a jumper cable on L and V but it didn’t actuate the water fill valve, that’s an indication that the problem is with the solenoid valve. It’s cheaper than buying the ice maker module. Replacing is also easy.

Photo of ur dual solenoid valve?

Are you still getting leaks?

With quick connect fittings, I get leaks when either
• tubing isn’t inserted fully
• tubing isn’t cut square
• outer sides of the tubing are a bit worn out so collet doesn’t grip well
• collet worn out or defective
• O-ring old

My current GE fridge was bought used, and the water dispenser never worked, although the icemaker did. The fridge would develop an ice sheet in the bottom below the deli drawer over time. I discovered there was a hernia in one of the internal plastic hoses near the water reservoirs that was causing a very slow drip in the cabinet. After disassembling everything, and replacing that hose, no more ice sheet—and the water dispenser started working again!
