Well, I made them...this recipe

They are scrumptious. Next time I’ll double the almond extract. I love almond
flavored things. I used sliced almonds. Bought a big bag, it’s in the freezer.
Easy to make and sooo good!

I thought you meant fortune cookies which are almond flavored also but a different dough that should bake to soft when done and cool hard. I forget what you call it. You can make ice cream cones or ice cream drumsticks with it.

Ok, looked it up. Interweb has no clear answer as to flavor. You can get anything you want. The closest thing to traditional is vanilla and sesame oil flavoring. I searched on "traditional fortune cookie flavor".

Had to look up pizzelle. Italian waffles.

Well, if anyone is still interested in these cookies...
I have an update... first I used 2 teaspoons of almond extract...
the original recipe was too dry - so I made them again and
added 3 tab milk...Also, smashed them down flatter and brushed the cookies with milk
and then pressed down the almonds. (y) The almonds stayed on nicely.
