That blade is for an oscillating tool. Not sure how well it would work in a drill press, let alone to trying to get the floor into the drill press.

OP, can you just notch the 2x over the tile?

 

Any of the diamond edged non segmented wheels will work if you are only cutting one tile. More than that, you should be using a wet saw, not a grinder.

You could, but picking up the floor may be too heavy to pass through the saw. Go slow with the grinder, as you can burn the tile. What is the objective?

No man, you get a cheap tile saw like this, take off the guard, then turn it upside down on the floor. Lighter than picking up the floor!

Jim ... the comment about the DP was sarcasm, based on another discussion. However, i think the blade and an oscillating tool might work very well here, since he is wanting to cut a small piece of an installed tile. The grinder would work well too, but could be messier, and might not get tight enough to the wall.

I need to just cut about 3/4" off the edge here.

 

Here's what I got...

 

You need this blade and a drill press.

 

Put a 3/4" rabbit on the 2X4 so the tile can remain untouched. Wood is easier to mill than tile. Then fasten the wood avoiding the edge with the rabbit and move the project forward.
