Hi, I bought a 1930 house in CT last summer. Our basement (walk out basement, floor might be 0-3 ft. below grade) is concrete slab. We purchased the house last summer with the floor unfinished, and wanted to put in flooring. We put in this floor: Product Details about a month ago. The specialized flooring store we bought it from told us that no underlayment was required, so we didn't use one.
About 2 weeks after we installed it, we noticed some efflorescence coming up between the planks in a few spots. You can see it in some of the pics below. Then a few days later, I noticed that in some points if I press down hard on the floor, actual drops of water will come up between the planks.
So I pulled back off my baseboards then took out a few of the click-in planks and there's serious water down there. See the pics below. I'm 99% sure that this is condensation, and not coming up through the concrete cause the floor was unfinished and dry from August - January. I guess with the flooring there the moisture couldn't spread out and turned into a puddle....
So what do I do? What's causing this? Is this just cause it's like 15 degrees out or should I expect this all year? I realize a moisture barrier underlayment probably would've helped, but it's still gonna be wet down there right?
