You can't see it in the photos but when I took out the bottom framing plate for this wall (because there was a black substance on the bottom framing plate which might have been Black Mold), behind the bottom framing plate was a pink hardened material that definitely was squeezed in there between the wall framing and the concrete basement wall.

It is hard as a rock and looks like at one point it was soft and then it shaped and then hardened to form AROUND
the framing base plate.

You can see in the one corner photo that there is a black color on top of the entire surface of this pink material, as you can see there is a small part of the material which was chipped, allowing you to see inside this black covered mound of substance, which shows a pink interior.

I purchased a mold kit to test the black substance to see what it is (see more photos of the black substance that I found on the wall framing floor base in this thread I started asking what everything thinks it might be).

So your question is what is the pink/beige material that I’m pointing to with the red arrows in the graphic below. The purple lines are the outline of sill plates that you’ve removed, so it’s apparent that the mystery material arrived after the sill plates were in.

Here’s my guess. The odd framing of the wall is because the sill plate and bottom few inches of the studs were rotted, so someone removed the sill plate, cut off the rotted parts of the studs and rebuilt as shown. Because they were worried about it happening again they poured some cementitious material between the sill plate and the wall hoping to seal the crack there.
