Newer strorms will not have a much better efficiency then the ones you have. The price point for a new storm would be better used for newer windows.

The windows are original 50plus year old single pane wooden windows... I really did not want to tear out the originals and have to mess with the vinyl siding or the trim inside.... so in response, I have double hung single pane OLD windows... there are ten of them on an inclosed porch

Is this porch heated or cooled or a three season porch? If it's a 3 season porch, why bother with the storms.
As stated by Bill, you can install a good quality vinyl replacement window and get the efficiency you want without touching the exterior.

There are sash replacement kits availabe that only replace the sash and add a jamb liner, Marvin or Weathershield. And vinyl replacement windows do not require removal of the old frame, but the storms have to be removed.

The porch is heated with HWBB...4 season and used alot.. it is the primary entry to the home.. just looking to get a little better seal so we do not get the condensation or breeze.

Is this porch over a crawl space? Unheated? Uninsulated?

Yes the porch as attached and there is no foundation under it....

 

I started in the window industry after high school 30+ yrs ago building storms. I am still in the industry, and our company still offers storm products. They look and perform about the same mechanically.
The difference is that some storm manufacturers will offer tints and even hard coat low e to improve performance. This will lower the U value of the combined prime/storm product.
I believe that someone mentioned replacement windows in this thread. The old wood sash can be removed and a replacement put in its place. The old wood would need capped to reduce maintenance.
