Adding outdoor soffit lights

Hello, I am wanting to install 2 small LED recessed lights in the soffit area above my 2 garage doors. Link below to the light I am thinking about.

There is currently a motion light installed between the 2 doors that has a switch. Is it as simple as connecting to this light?

Other than replacing switches and outlets, I haven't done any major electrical work, so I want to make sure I cover all bases.

Hi, is the plan to remove the existing fixture, and just use the motion sensor or are you installing 2 new fixtures?

It would be 2 new fixtures, leave the motion light as is.
I currently leave the motion switch on all the time. I would probably install a timer switch to control everything automatically.
I guess another option would be to use a photo cell to control my new soffit lights. Just not sure if that is getting too far out of diy territory.

Hi, you can have the motion sensor control everything if you like, adding a timer to make everything automatic, it would be automatic with the motion sensor.
