ac not cold

Ok so if it’s not one thing it’s another. outside 96 degrees inside 86

My air is flowing and it is not cold

I go outside and the condenser is running and it will turn off not running very long. But the house air is not very cold and is not cooling the house down. The pipes that go to and from the ac unit are not cold or hot just what i would expect it to be from the normal air around it.

Ideas?

Not used much at all only 7 years old.

It's time to hook up the gauges and check the proper refrigerant charge, check the filter, check if the condenser coil is clean....etc

Ya i may need to have someone do that. I just dont understand why the fan would turn off when its needing to be on even with low coolant.

a low pressure switch would be turning the condenser off to protect the compressor.

That seems to be what its doing. I assume the fan will turn off along with the compreasure?

i dont have anything to check and recharge the unit. Would you say more cost affective to get that stuff and do it or call someone?

This procedure is not simple as replace a capacitor .....

ac not cold
