so you are saying to reuse the one already in place attach this threaded drain to the existing one?

Not positive what L is selling. The bottom portion, washer, gasket and overflow cover and connector come in the box with the pictured part. You then glue your pipe to that, tee up for the overflow and reuse or add your trap.

the one you sent me is not avail in my local lowes store. can I use this one instead?

Never heard of or used it but I assume it would be okay. You might also check HD or do an SOS at Lowes.

Verify contents of any you purchase. You should do it with all new parts, plumber's putty under the drain (inside the tub) and then not have to mess with it for 30 years.

I like the Watco because the the stopper unscrews from the base making it easy fish out hairs with one of those flexible saw toothed snakes. The stopper replacement gaskets (once every 10 Years or so are easy to find and replace.

Maybe. But for the $5 you will save I not the risk is worth the reward. I personally would replace everything to main line.

Your picture is of slip joiny connectors which are easy to work with but are not a strong. Making a wild guess that that is a mobile home specific part and buying from a dealer it is cheaper to just do it right.

I would like to just fix it by adding that piece mentioned but I would like to get it done tomorrow. However, that piece has be ordered and it will take about a week to get here.

I would love to replace it with the exact same threaded fitting that was in there but, I do not know what is that fitting called and unsure if it is still for sale out there.

this is the piece:

can someone please let me know what is called and where can I get it from?

Plumbers putty under the flange (inside the tub), one person inside using this wrench to hold the assembly https://www.walmart.com/ip/SUPERIOR-TOOL-6020-Tub-Drain-Wrench/21020928 and you under the floor to tighten it moderately tight.

Or in this case maybe the holder goes under the floor and the tightener is in the tub with the wrench. Plastic threads don't kill it. About 95% of the putty should be squeezed out.
