What's a good quality overhead flood LED for the kitchen?

You are looking for BR30 bulbs? I don't know which works the longest, but I think you would get decent service out of whatever is available at your local big box store. Otherwise I am partial to the Philips Ultra-Definition which are available in "Warm Glow" 2700K or "Daylight" 5000K. But I was also happy with the Feit bulbs which might not have quite as good color accuracy but the selectable color temperature is a really nice feature.

If the old ones were flickering, are they on a dimmer which could be the issue?
