Hi,
I am looking for cleaners for a purpose. I have no idea what might work, only what wont.
I was asked to help clean someone's home. A relative... There is a layer of build up on the cabinets... the ceiling fan, all over... more in some places and it is terrible. I took off a glass light cover from the ceiling fan and it was so sticky, the cloth would not wipe over it. Fantastic did not even start to cut it. Finally I used dishwashing soap and a nail brush. When done, it still felt like there was a slight sticky film.
That being said: I will not accept the task with out ammo. This is probably years of cooking with oil... There is dust and a gummy film. The wood cabinet faces are also stuck up with this tuff.
1) Is there a particular cleaner that will cut through this stuff, short of Zip Strip? Goop is not an option.
I would like to try and save the cabinets and the ceiling fan blades.
Also clean easier where there is metal and glass.
2) Solid wood stained floors. The dog has made use of them, sometimes unnoticed. There is residue. The floors are somewhat filthy... they were wet mopped at times, but not enough. I fear the dog pee is part of a mild odor issue. What would clean the floors the best. (these are from '77 and are the expensive real wood floors.
3) Same for ceramic tile floors?
4) Cleaning the walls and wiping down before painting? (dry wall with white paint.)
Thanks.
