What can cause huge freezer temperature swings?

Here's solid advice seabeast:

Since this is under warranty [it is correct?], keep calling the whirlpool technician to come fix it. since your fix did not work, call him again to come fix it. The next day, if you have the same result, keep doing it again and repeat ad-infintum. make SURE you keep every service call paper work. Log your calls too. DO NOT state that you have done anything to the unit; this is EASY to void warranty.

Once you have a solid paper trail, you can quality for a replacement, and MAKE SURE you do not get the same model. I have done this w any make/model of anything and achieved top results every time. Before your warranty expires and if you have not received the results you wanted, send a letter to corp and cc: the State Atty General of where you live.

Good luck and DO NOT give up.
