I have a Kobalt Quiet Tech 22-gallon compressor with a 10-gallon portable tank joined for a total of 32 gallons, used mainly for small sand blasting jobs along with the other common uses for an air compressor.

The compressor sits down in the garage, directly under my bedroom. You can barely hear it when it's running.

Have a good day.

Hey Paul can you unpack the best way you found to join your compressor to your extra tank? I’ve been considering doing the same but I have no clue what is the best method to make it happen.
You need to run an air hose between the two tanks.

Remove the fill hose off the tank and replace with a female air chuck. You'll need to cut/grind about a 1/4' off the threads of the female air chuck so that it doesn't interfere with air valve on the tank.

Most of the modern compressors have a hex plug in the manifold on the tank side before the pressure adjustments. Remove that and install a female air chuck.

Buy a short male/male 6 ft air hose to connect them together.

Make sure that the spare tank has the same pressure rating as the compressor. I have a 150lb setup, normally you'll find 120lb to be the standard for small home/handyman compressors.

When you want to use the tank as a stand-alone, close the tank valve first and then remove the air hose from the compressor side first.

Have a good day.
