Hello, hoping someone will have a good solution for me with my dilemma. I have a 3 inch diameter closet elbow pvc pipe upstairs that I have removed the flange from. When I tried to use an inside twist and set, it was too long for the elbow and wouldn’t sit flush. So I trimmed the end off to fit but now the gasket bunches up and will not sit because the notches have been cut off.
When I remove the gasket, the flange moves around a bit because no gasket.
So what is my best option? Use the cut down twist n set and primer/cement should hold it? Something else?

You trimmed the end off the flange or the vertical pipe? If the former, you screwed the pooch. You most likely should have trimmed the vertical pipe and left the flange alone. Pictures always help.

Thanks for response, was actually at Home Depot looking for solution so that was reason for no pics.

I’veattached pic of trimmed twist n set and also of closet elbow. I’m not sure I’m understanding the part of trimming the elbow because it was the bottom of the flange that was hitting the crook of the elbow. That was why I trimmed the flange.

Tomorrow, go to a plumbing supply house....not a hardware store, not a big box store....a REAL plumbing store.
Show them the photo of what you did and ask what they suggest.
When they are through laughing, they will help you figure out your mess.
