I have an old 3/4" copper main line in the basement which branches off to 1/2" copper lines to fixtures. It needs to go and will be replaced with PEX and a manifold and home-run system. Should I be concerned about the loss of inner diameter when switching to 3/4" PEX? I'm torn between using 3/4" (which will be more straightforward) or 1" PEX (which will be a pain in the butt and more expensive).
One thought I have is that while same-size PEX has reduced ID it negates this with fewer elbows in a home-run system, so the net effect on GPM is not noticeable. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks :glasses:
