Toilet settles on vinyl floor

I have that vinyl flooring sheet that you can get at Home Depot and glue down in my bathroom. As time goes on the toilet settles and leaves an imprint on the floor as it compresses the vinyl flooring. My toilet flange sits above the finished floor so since this imprint exists I have to shim the toilet so it doesn’t wobble. My concern is the shims will probably start to compress the vinyl floor eventually and I’ll have to replace another toilet ring since my toilet will start the leak at the base. Is there a permanent fix to this besides for redoing the flooring so the toilet sits on a hard surface like tile.

I dont understand this part. The flange should rest on the finished floor. This is what toilets are made for.
If it is above the floor then best to lower the flange.

Either way the flooring compressing is not your problem. I would say it is more or a 1/16 if anything. And is compressed when you tighten to floor. And never or heard of that causing a problem.

It is very common and you should shim most toilets. Few floors our perfectly level. Easy to do and best to have it level.

Provided that the vinyl floor does not squish enough for the toilet bottom to touch the drain flange you are okay. (Actually there should be at least 3/16 of clearance; a few layers of corrugated cardboard might help verify this during a test fitting before you fasten the toilet down with the wax ring.)
