Stymied trying to remove an access door

Anyone here ever found an burner access door on a nat gas furnace glued shut. It is a 20 year old counter flow furnace with a vent blower pushing the fresh air into the burner compartment and through the furnace. The only sticker on this unit simply says RPJ. It's looks like a high efficiency set up but only has B venting?
I think somebody has had some pressure switch issues in the past because every wire or pipe opening into the burner box compartment has been plugged with wads of plumbing mastic......I was brought in to service it but after removing the 10 screws securing the burner door, I was unable to budge it in anyway short of needing to use enough force to probably destroy it.
I have dealt with plenty of burner door seals that stick after a number of years but this just stymied me?????

If someone plugged all of the holes. I am guessing that they also used something to glue that door shut.

I would write it up as not able to service, and put down that you suggest for them to look into a replacement unit, since it is considered non-serviceable. Then walk after you hand them the paperwork. I probably would not even charge them for this call, since you could not do a proper inspection on it.

If they opt for a new unit, then maybe see if you can make some discounts on replacing the old with the new.

I agree with greg.

I have seen blower doors siliconed shut to stop whistles. Probably did the same with your door. There were a few odd mid efficiency units that have combustion air. Usually a 4" ABS to them. ICP which makes Heil RPJ did and so did a Carrier I believe. That furnace is notorious for the copper rings popping from the heat ex or it cracking. 95% chance either or has happened.
