I have a large single pane picture window in my 1957 block home
that I want to replace with a sound suppressing similar window
and another half the size on the same side of the house in a bedroom.
both face a street that is becoming more and more saturated with traffic.
I called one of the major window companies for an "over the phone" estimate
and they sent out a sales rep - - - -
after 30 minutes, the sales rep says the CHEAPEST option would be $5,250.00
for the two windows with a lifetime guarantee. JEEEEZZZEEE FIVE GRAND. . .
so I am going to do the job myself with 3 windows that are top of the line
double insulated energy efficient and do not open. . . . for way less than a grand.
Blake - call a couple of window companies to get an idea of your options
and see what you can do yourself - within your skill set and budget.
attached is a photo of what I expect to have after the replacement windows are installed.
I am an outside person and a bit claustrophobic when closed up so I really need
my SUNSHINE !!!! so for me, heavy curtains is not an option.
