I'm guessing kohler or moen. know more once you remove cartridge.

Looks like two more screws to remove. Should pop off. Make sure water is off. Cover drain, don't let screws fall down drain or in the wall cavity. Take a picture, remember exately how everything goes back on in the correct order.

Ok. Put the screws back in they way they were.

There is a flat sided nut (see pic circled in red) built into the end of that lock collar for a cresent wrench. It may just unscrew from there. Use some wd40 or vinegar and heat from a hair dryer to help with the sediment, etc., and see if it will unscrew. Do not use too much force like the guy in the video did.

Ok, the cartridge may just wiggle out of the housing at this point. If not, there is another two sided flat nut built into the locking sleeve that may have to unscrew as well with a bigger cresent wrench. See pic.

Make sure you put those screws you took out of the plastic part back in. Looks like it just unscrews. Just had to know the mason trick to remove it.

Once you get the cartridge removed, take it to a local hardware, plumbing supply or box store and match it up. I have good luck at the local hardware store.

They will be able to identify it better matching it up. They usually have all the major brands available. If not, they can tell you the brand, and you'll have to order it and use that one till your new one comes in.

If it's a moen, pf, kohler, delta, they will ship you the cartridge you need for free if you can wait a week or so. Just saying.

Thank you. Yes, screws are back in the plastic bracket. I will continue working on it in the morning. I have a personal policy that if nothing is leaking, don't do plumbing after 5PM. Not sure if that's experience or lack of experience talking. Appreciate all the help today.
That is a great personal policy. (y)

Hope everything works out for you and it's ezpz123z.

Wow. Finally . nice job.

Hope you find a replacement .

If you can wait a couple days use the old cartdrige and call the manufacture and they may send you a new one at no charge. Don't know about danze but other main brands do. Worth a shot.

For the next person that has this same problem:
Danze Sheridan Brushed Nickel Single Handle Tub and Shower Combination Faucet INCLUDES Rough-in Valve model #D510055. Replacement Shower Cartridge Danze part #A507107 as given to me by Gerber Customer Support. Online search lists it as #DA507107.
Thanks for the good info @jsetche. Complete part numbers and everything. I'm sure this thread will help others as well.

Glad Gerber was able to help you out with a free one. Doesn't hurt to ask, the worse they can say is no, right.

@jsetche That was probably the issue in the first place, just loose as goose. Lol.

The cartridge locking nut has to be tight and snug with a wrench not just hand tight. You don't have to go crazy tight, but tight enough that it shouldn't be leaking.

It won't hurt as long as you don't use too much, but in my experience, I have never used pipe tape or dope on cartridge locking nut threads, never had any problems. Just saying.

If it doesn't leak anymore, call it day. You win. Glad it's fixed. Nice job.
