Ryobi BE318-2 Repair Help

Hello,

I'm using a Roybi BE318-2 belt sander to sand down some wood floors in a small room. Recently, the sand paper belt caught on something and tore and a piece of the paper is lodged behind the drive wheel. I'm trying to disassemble the sander to get at the paper and remove it (and check the drive belt - there was a slight rubber odor), however it's not as easy as most tools I've repaired. (well, it probably is, really).

I've removed the 8 housing screws on the right side of the sander, but the housing will not come apart. I checked for a 9th screw under the branding sticker, but there was nothing there. I have an assembly diagram for the -2 model and it seems that it should only be the 8 screws holding it together. Any thoughts on what I'm missing? This is really throwing a wrench (or some sand paper) into my progress.

Thanks!
