Do you know of any article that specifically permits Romex through conduit, or is it that the NEC simply doesn't prohibit it?

I've never done the calcs, but have run 2 14/2's in 1/2" for basement recepts. Never have failed for that.

So have I, but it is technically a code violation...

Mr. Techy, Thanks for the info. 1 quick question, please. Over filling an Electrical Metalic Tube causes overheating, just like I first stated Right? I'm not an electrician, so this is not a rhetorical question. This was a serious post originally. The situation is at my sister's place, and I'd like her property to be safe. No, overheating is not the issue, only when over 9 current carrying conductors would heating be an issue.

It's safe, and done all the time.
