Ah Yes,, nice!
As I scanned through your pictures, I was scared shaking! Then I seen the concrete mesh screening, aka 'DEAD-MAN MESH' in my trade.
When we would build over head bridges, 100% fill, with concrete interlocking panels as 'bricks' or blocks, we used 2' of 57 stone behind the wall, as you did, then filter fabric, then SAND. We would wash/ water in the sand & plate vibrate behind the wall till we were 4' away,, then we would use a large vibratory roller. (about the same outcome as your bobcat tracking) The sand & watering never stopped, while we climbed 30-40' to road bed base grade.
The water quickly flowed through the sand & poured out the footer drain pipes.
(almost) JUST AS YOU DID! ;>)
We always wrapped the perforated pipe with filter fabric, just in case there was a heavy rain water problem,,, eliminating the sinking of soil behind the wall.

Good Job.

But, I couldn't see any pins/ barn nails anchoring the mesh to the blocks, or back into the dirt?

OH YA,,, something else that should be mentioned,
On one of my bridge jobs, we had to replace the head & wind walls on a 40' high bridge embankment.
After the walls were formed & poured & all of the piling was done ( i was operating a hydraulic crane at that time, just sitting back & watching everything progress) I noticed that the company was putting 24" of 57 stone behind the wall, & then back-filling that with sand,,, but NO FILTER FABRIC IN BETWEEN!?
When just about to the top of the fill, I walked over to the foreman & asked him where the filter fabric was, & or why they weren't using it behind the stone?
His face turned red,, & he quickly pulled out the prints,,,, HE FORGOT THE FABRIC! (OMG) & The inspector let him forget!???
Anyway,,, for you guys building a retaining wall,,,,, never forget to use filter fabric between the stone & sand, or backfilling dirt!

To prove why;
Take a 5 gallon bucket & fill it 1/2 way with 57 stone. Then top it off with sand.
Now, hose it down good,,,, & watch how much sand disappears into the stone.
lol,,, Maybe why, so many approach slabs sink!????
