Hello All,

Im renovating our laundry room. Our new front loading units are alot lower and I would like to move this box down a few inches. The top the stand pipe is 23" above trap, I believe code is 18"min.
I have done minor plumbing(replaced sink shutoff valve, lines, faucet, etc). I have been reading alot about PEX.

Have a few questions:
1. Can I just cut the copper, install sharkbite fitting, run small piece of PEX to new PEX style Outlet box?Yes you can do that. Pay attention to where the new pex valves are in relation to the copper pipes. Cut the copper low enough to flex to the new pex valves- it will flex enough to eliminate those copper 90's
2. If #1 is ok, is there minimum PEX length from copper to new valve? Not in relation to code but long enough to make the offset mentioned above
3. Just cut drain pipe, clean, then cement to new box?Yep,but you may want to crimp the pex on first- maybe not? Plan your steps out before securing with glue or pex crimps

Seem ok? Problems? Anything Im not thinking of?

Thanks!
Turn the water off first
